We recently caught up with one of Cebu's premiere makeup artists, Jessie Glova, via email to learn more about his biggest project thus yet, the Jessie Glova Style Salon for Men and Women, and share in the excitement of the news. CebuMUAs.com: When did you begin working on this
project?
JG: I have been planning this
project since the middle of last year.
It’s always been my dream to own a salon. It gives me great
fulfillment especially because beauty is my passion. |
CebuMUAs.com: What services will you
be offering?
JG: We will be offering almost all
salon services apart from a
full body spa- from manicures to
pedicures, foot massages and spa,
eyelash extensions, threading, hair extension, hair color , hair rebonding, cut, treatments, and facials. We are also considering cosmetic tattoo or eyebrow embroidery in the near future. |
CebuMUAs.com: Describe the chosen
ambiance or interior design you have
chosen for your salon.
JG: Definitely shabby chic. I want
it fresh, clean, and classy.

CebuMUAs.com: What products will you
be offering?

JG: We will be offering Jessie Glova Cosmetics in the makeup studio and
L’Oreal and Matrix for hair
services.

CebuMUAs: What has been your most
memorable makeup session to date?
JG: I’ve had a lot of memorable
makeup sessions, but the one that stands
out right now is a recent prenuptial photoshoot with a young where I made them look like they were 70 years old in a span of 30 minutes. |
CebuMUAs.com: Do you have any upcoming
projects that you would like to
share besides the opening of your
salon?
JG: As of now I’m concentrating on
kick starting the operations for my
new salon and make-up studio. Soon I’ll be re-launching my cosmetic line which is currently under a repackaging process and BFAD approval. I also keep myself busy with, Corona Sugbuanon Organization, a nonprofit organization that helps aspiring beauty queens. |
CebuMUAs.com: What do you wish to
share with young stylists/makeup artists
who want to follow in your footsteps?
JG: Just believe in yourself, love
your work and be passionate with what
you’re doing. Stay focused and most of all keep learning and studying. |
CebuMUAs.com: What inspires you every
day?
JG: I’ve always felt like if I don’t
follow my dreams then I don’t know what will
happen to me. Life is so short so I am just enjoying every bit of it. I would love to share my success to all the people I love and those who love me. |
CebuMUAs.com: What is your take on
Cebu's beauty industry?

JG: The
beauty industry in Cebu is really doing well. I believe that Cebu is embracing
it.
People are more conscious about looking after their well-being. I believe that beauty and
wellness are definitely important to this generation.
